In Autumn 2015 a friend from University and I decided to travel across the Pyrenees from Perpignan on the Mediterranean coast to Bilbao on the Atlantic coast. I wanted to make a film documenting our off road adventure, so we took a range of cameras including a DSLR, GoPro and DJI Phantom Drone. The main aim of the film was to show the stunning natural beauty of a mountain range often overlooked in favour of the more popular European Alps further North. We wanted to get off the 'beaten track' and really explore the hidden gems of this mountain range, so we travelled by Landrover Defender and planned most of the route to be 'off road' following dirt tracks. We camped wild and only passed through villages to stock up on supplies, rarely coming across other people during our journey. As I hope my film shows, the Pyrenees are a stunning mountain range, filled with contrasting landscapes waiting to be explored.
